Driven by hope and dreams and inspired by the actual state of our planet, Floratypes were imagined as an answer to a future where floriculture is forbidden.

Although that story is not ~yet~ our living reality, the floratypes are real, created into existence by Elvira van der Ploeg.
Every Floratype is composed from petals and parts from different, real and still existing flowers.

The petals, heart, pistils and stamens are delicately detached and organised by Elvira. From there all the individual bits are meticulously assembled to create a new species: Floratypes. All Floratypes are captured in full bloom – the supreme moment of creation.
